Road accidents happen frequently in various places in Karnataka, including the capital Bengaluru. Accidents are reported due to over speeding and drunk driving. In this situation, it has been revealed that 1,187 cases are pending among the cases of failure to stop causing an accident. In this regard, the press release issued by the State Home Office states:-

4 thousand 500 cases were registered in Karnataka from 2019 to January 2023 for causing an accident and not stopping. Of this, 1,187 cases remain unsolved. Out of 4 thousand 500 cases, 952 people have died tragically. And 3,807 people were injured in these accidents. 284 people died in 2019, 221 in 2020, 182 in 2021, 247 in 2022 and 2 people died in January this year.
