It is, so to speak, in the first person that Luciana Demichelis recounts the alternative world of rave parties in La Plata, in the province of Buenos Aires. She photographs “ses pairs”, other partygoers who, like her, find themselves in what she calls “limbo” of a space-time between childhood and adulthood, and aspire to “a better future”.
Uncomfortable in conventional parties, this part of the Argentine student youth, often poor, gathers in the illegality of intimate evenings. Frustrated not to have the visas necessary for the trip, to have to multiply the small jobs next to the university “to survive”, she wants “take care of each other”, precise Luciana Demichelis, and discovering oneself through dance or other sensory experiences.
