These counties previously had 19 deputies, but now their number has been reduced to 15.
Another 15 deputies will be elected in Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jurmala, Liepāja, Aizkraukle district, Alūksne district, Augšdaugava district, Đadaži district, Balvu district, Dobele district, Gulbene district, Krāslava district, Kuldīga district, Limbaži district, Līvāni district, Ludza district, Olaines in the county, Preiļi county, In Rēzekne district, Salaspils district, Saldus district, Saulkrasti district, Smiltene district, Valka district and Ventspils district.
On the other hand, 19 deputies will be elected in Bauskas county, Cēsu county, Dienvikkurzeme county, Jelgava county, Jēkabpilī county, Ķekava county, Madona county, Mārupe county, Ropažu county, Sigulda county, Talsu county, Tukuma county and Valmiera county.
In the upcoming municipal council elections, the newly created Madona county council will be elected, to which the municipality of Varakļani has been added. CVK explains that the number of deputies to be elected is determined according to the data of the Register of Natural Persons on the total number of inhabitants in Madona and Varakļani counties on the day of the election announcement, which was January 3. The newly formed Madona County Council will continue to have 19 members. Until now, the municipality of Varakļani, attached to the county, had 15 members.
13 deputies will be elected in Rēzekne and Ventspils.
23 deputies will be elected in Ogre region, while in Riga, as before, 60 municipal deputies will be elected.
The Central Election Commission has determined the number of deputies to be elected in the municipal councils in accordance with the Municipal Council Election Law and based on the data of the Natural Persons Register on the number of inhabitants in the administrative territories of the municipalities on the day of announcing the municipal council elections on January 3 of this year.
Municipal elections in Latvia will be held on June 7.
