In Calvados, a campsite that relies on proximity to nature is attracting holidaymakers, to the point of already being sold out until August 15. Its advantages ? Calm and a state of mind far removed from five-star campsites.

The Brévedent campsite (Calvados) is a haven of peace in the heart of the Pays d’Auge. We come across goats, chickens or rabbits, and in the vegetable garden grow courgettes and beans. Caravans and tents take place around the lake. “It’s so calm, silent. This nature is very soothing”says a British tourist.

“What we offer are places, stories”

Raphaël and Jessica Bony, the managers of the campsite, regularly visit the owners. They have been running the campsite for 15 years and focus on authenticity, far from the hustle and bustle of seaside campsites. “We immediately realized the importance of differentiating ourselves, of not having a uniform offer. (…) What we offer are places, stories”, explains Raphael. The recipe seems to work: not a single slot is available from July 20 to August 15.
