Assaf Digami, an emergency medical medic from Magen David Adom’s motorcycle unit, participated in a family event this (Sunday) afternoon at an event hall in Rishon Lezion.
Immediately at the end of the circumcision ceremony, a call was suddenly heard on the public address system in the hall of joy, if there is a medical person in the hall, MDA medic Assaf Digami noticed what was happening at the end of the hall and immediately ran to the scene.
“I noticed a baby about a year old unconscious and blue,” Assaf said and added, “I was told that he was choking on food, I took the toddler in my arms and laid him on my palm with his body tilted downwards and patted him on the back, I performed life-saving actions and with the help of two fingers I rescued him from his throat A piece of schnitzel stuck in him, he slowly began to regain consciousness and breathe, the MDA intensive care vehicle team that sensed the scene evacuated him to the hospital when the baby’s condition is stable.”
MDA paramedic Shay Muslin added and said: “When we arrived the baby was already conscious and breathing, we continued the medical treatment and evacuated him for further treatment at the hospital, it’s a miracle that Assaf was in the right place and at the right time, the actions he performed were life saving and to our delight the incident ended well.”
