Do you know Creïzic Island in Morbihan? It has been in a family for 150 years. The France Télévisions teams went there.

You need to be an experienced navigator to venture into the currents of Creïzic (Morbihan). In Breton, it is “the middle island”. This island, located in the Gulf of Morbihan, concentrates all the attention of Bernard Pallard. Only a few clues betray the human presence on this island which has been in Bernard’s family for 150 years. Despite his pride, the owner confides that “It’s very hard” to live here. Indeed, there is no electricity or running water.

The couple live there ten days a month

Gradually, Catherine and Bernard acclimatized to Creïzic Island, where they live ten days a month. “When we arrived, (…) there was no roof. In a way, the island is in charge and we are adapting. Our goal is to make the island the most beautiful and real”explains Catherine Pallard.

Thirty years ago, the island was just a pile of brambles and honeysuckle. Patiently, the couple reclaimed this 3.5 hectare space. Creïzic Island is now a treasure trove of biodiversity.
