In the midst of attempts to reach an agreed outline on the issue of legal reform, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today (Wednesday) with President Yitzhak Herzog. This was reported in Israel Hayom.

According to estimates, even though Netanyahu is prevented from discussing and dealing with the legal reform – the two discussed the situation in the nation and the need to reach a compromise, since Netanyahu is not prevented from doing so. It should be noted that, usually, the meetings between the Prime Minister and the President deal with political and security issues and updates between the parties.

The President’s House said: “It is a regular periodic meeting held once every two weeks.” The Prime Minister’s Office also claimed that this was a regular routine meeting.

In the meantime, Vint reported that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told his close associates in closed conversations that he could have resolved the legal reform crisis “within 10 minutes”, but according to him he avoided doing so because of the ban imposed on him by the government’s legal advisor Gali Beharve-Miara , due to the conflict of interest in which he finds himself following his trial.
