by time news

In the Sverdlovsk region, the QR code system, which was temporarily canceled since the end of December, will resume operation from January 20, the regional headquarters reported. At the same time, local authorities have reduced the list of institutions to which the measure applies.

From tomorrow, QR codes will be needed to visit:

  • state bodies and local governments;
  • institutions that carry out “material, technical and social support for the activities of government bodies”;
  • bases and rest houses, sanatoriums.

Previously, the measure applied, among other things, to catering establishments, shopping centers, theaters.

QR codes were introduced against the backdrop of a sharp rise in the incidence of COVID-19 in the Sverdlovsk region and the arrival of the omicron strain in the region. So, if during the New Year holidays the incidence decreased from 500 to 350 infected per day, then on January 14, 536 cases of the disease were recorded in the region.

In addition to the re-introduction of QR codes, officials were required to transfer at least 30% of employees to distance learning. For other employers, this measure is advisory in nature.

All mass events in public catering establishments, as well as concerts that take place in non-special places, are prohibited. From January 27, catering establishments will again be prohibited from working at night: from 23:00 to 6:00.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 207 thousand cases of coronavirus have been registered in the Sverdlovsk region. Of these, about 182 thousand people have already recovered, 9.8 thousand have died. Now 57% of the total population of the region and 71.8% of adults have been vaccinated against coronavirus. Herd immunity is over 60%.

In general, 33,899 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Russia over the past day. This is the maximum since November 26, 2021, compared to the previous day, the increase was 8.5%.
