A US school is being investigated for a video where its students lick their feet. Authorities in Oklahoma, USA, are investigating a local high school following a video from a fundraising event that shows a group of students licking the feet of their classmates.
The images, recorded at Deer Creek High School, caused shock and disgust on social media this weekend. State Superintendent Ryan Walters launched the investigation by calling the incident “disgusting.” The video, first broadcast by Fox 25, was recorded during a fundraiser for a local coffee shop that employs people with disabilities. A group of 9th and 12th grade students participated in a series of competitions that attendees paid to watch.
In the images, the student volunteers are seen forming pairs: one sitting in a chair and the other lying on the floor licking the peanut butter from his partner’s fingers. “He’s devouring them!” shouts one of those present, while others applaud and the presenter directs the contest.

Due to the video, several American politicians have already criticized the incident, including Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who described the scene as “child abuse.” Walters’ assessment coincided with Cruz’s and indicated that steps are being taken to prevent these types of incidents in Oklahoma.
The Deer Creek School District issued a statement, after the video began circulating on social media, that was intended to set the context of the event and discuss some of the details of the week’s programming.
The District revealed that students registered for the events in advance and that no official staff or teachers were involved in the Thursday afternoon activity during which the controversial event occurred.
