The Federation of Bank Employees and Officers has announced that it will go on strike on the 16th and 17th to oppose the privatization of public sector banks and the Banks Amendment Bill. All India Bank Employees Union General Secretary CH Venkatachalam said that it has been reported that the Banks Amendment Bill 2021 will soon be tabled in Parliament regarding the privatization of two public sector banks.
The federation has decided to go on a two-day strike on December 16 and 17 in protest. State Bank of India, India’s largest public sector bank, has warned its customers about this.
Banks have said banking services to customers will be affected during the strike. This can make it difficult for customers to access various banking services, including withdrawals and deposits. With just a day or two to go before the strike, customers can deal with the crisis if they plan and act on their banking needs in advance.
