The Toulouse police are stepping up to deal with the problem of urban rodeos. Thursday, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., a plane borrowed from the Border Police (PAF), with a “mixed” crew on board, flew over the Pink City. Its mission: to support and guide the ground staff who, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of the Interior, now carry out daily operations against wild runs, on two or four wheels.
No urban rodeo as such was spotted during this first overflight, but it did allow 65 suspicious vehicles to be checked and 13 drivers to be fined or who confused the sidewalk with the road. Five vehicles were impounded, and one man was taken into custody for lack of a license. The departmental directorate of public security (DDSP) warns that this aerial surveillance will be requested again.

The Toulouse police also rely in their interventions on calls from annoyed residents. When hot, they dial 17, 112 or contact Hello Toulouse. But they can also report recurring rodeo locations on the Moncommissariat.fr platform.
It was information of this type that led the police to intervene overnight from Thursday to Friday, around 2 a.m., in the vast parking lot of the Aéroscopia museum in Blagnac. On the spot, five cars had not yet opened hostilities. Among the drivers checked, a 24-year-old man did not have a license. He will be tried on December 5.
