In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a criminal case has been opened after the death of two children who fell through the ice while skating.
According to the press service of the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee, the tragedy took place on October 21 in the village of Utan, Chernyshevsky district. Three teenagers 10-12 years old skated on ice in one of the reservoirs. The ice was not strong enough and cracked. As a result, two boys drowned, the third was saved by a man who happened to be nearby.
The bodies of the children were taken out of the water. When examining them, the experts did not find any signs of violent death.
The criminal case is being investigated under the article on causing death by negligence of two persons. Investigators have already interviewed the head of the village, the administration and teachers of the local school, and parents. Forensic medical examinations have been assigned. The progress of the investigation is controlled by the leadership of the regional SU SK.
