A talk and a master class for the two directors. Laura Morante in the film about the poet Akda Morante. Marlo Catrinel godmother with a big belly presents her directorial debut in a psychiatric hospital. The unpublished police drama by Thomas Milian with Eva Henger.

The most awaited event ends with Oliver Stone’s masterclass. With the grenade jacket, Steve Della Casa, ironic, never serious, minimalist, announces the documentary Now I Win on Marcello Lippi, a sportsman who did well with the national team, omitting the three championships with Juve. In his last year as artistic director of the TFF, Torino Film Festival (24 November-2 December), he tells the Taliban of the red threads that the festival reflects the title of a cult film, Il minestrone. And a retrospective will be dedicated to director Sergio Citti (who had Benigni and Gaber in the cast). Off-beat, sober, serious, informal festival: here there are no red carpets and no American stars. It’s a celebration of the city with an eye to the new. There are 128 films in total. Opening with Pupi Avati who will host a talk show from the Venaria palace with some of his actors, Micaela Ramazzotti and Neri Marcor. There is The Dew Point by Marco Risi who says: This film has a lot to do with me, with the relationship with my father and with the elderly, with those who are close to the great goal. The key points are: attention to social issues (as per tradition at the event) and women. Catrinel Marlon will be the first godmother with a big belly and presents his first work, Sunflowers, set in a psychiatric hospital in the 1960s; Laura Morante on the most beloved poet, the wounds of life covered by pietas, in Roberto Faenza’s TV film Folle d’amore – Alda Merini. Eugenia Costantini, Laura’s daughter, wrote and directed the short Nothing, about a little girl with a disorder that doesn’t let her breathe well, Manuela Arcuri’s return to Domina. Caterina Caselli will hold a masterclass (and so, in addition to Oliver Stone, Mario Martone, Kile Eastwood, Clint’s son, Fabrizio Gifuni and Drusilla Foer). And in competition (only first and second works as per the history of the youthful TFF) seven out of 14 films are by female directors, and the Italian one, Non riattaccare by Manfredi Lucibello, starring Barbara Ronchi. Thomas Milian’s unpublished work in the police drama Roma Nuda with Eva Henger and Francesco Venditti. Gianluca Tavarelli with Investigation into a love story: what if a tired and disillusioned couple went on TV to talk about their crisis? Mimmo Calopresti presents the docu-film Gianni Versace, the emperor of dreams, which was rejected at the Rome Film Festival after the controversy of his brother Santo Versace. Paolo Conte presents the film of his concert at La Scala last February. And then documentaries as if it were raining. Another retrospective on John Wayne, which stands out in the exhibition poster designed by Ugo Nespolo and with a quote from Godard: three artists with nothing in common: minestrone, precisely.
