In Wayanad, a woman was gang-raped by being taken to a homestay and a resort; six people, including two women, were arrested

Batheri: A woman from Tamil Nadu was gang-raped in Vaithiri, Wayanad. The woman, a native of Coimbatore, was taken to the resort and the home stay and tortured. The police arrested six people, including two women, in connection with the incident.

Riaz alias Mujeeb (33) from Perampra, Shah Jahan (42) from Vadakara Vilyapalli, Saranya (33) from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, Manju alias Bhadra (33) from Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram, Shanu alias Shanuwaz (28), from Arapatta below Meppadi, and Anasul Jamal from Vaithiri Thalipuzha. (27) have been arrested. Police informed that two accused persons are absconding.

Wayanad District Police Chief stated that Kalpatta DYSP has been given the task of investigation. The case is that the woman was gang-raped after being offered a job and brought to Wayanad, where she was kept in Vythiri and Lakiti.
