In the early Monday afternoon, a 30-year-old woman was seriously injured at Bischling (Werfenweng) when she started a tandem paragliding flight. The German and the pilot from Pongau were rescued by rescue helicopter.
The German passenger stumbled, so the take-off was aborted. As a result, the paraglider got stuck in the slippers below the launch site. The duo was rescued by the Martin 1 rescue helicopter, and the 30-year-old German was taken to the Schwarzach hospital. The 32-year-old pilot from em Pongau was unharmed. Another paragliding accident occurred in Koppl on Whit Monday: a 38-year-old started an advertising flight from the Gaisberg. When approaching the Guggenthal landing site, the paraglider was caught in a gust of wind, it was pulled up and collapsed. The pilot from Flachgau fell from five meters to the ground and was injured on impact.
