When inaugurating the conversion of the Basic Community Hospital “Dr. Rafael Alfaro González”, from Pijijiapan, Governor Rutilio Escandón Cadenas highlighted that thanks to investments in this area, Chiapas has a strong and transformed health system, which guarantees the population the human right to access decent medical services, quality, professionals, with a high human sense, with a gender and multicultural perspective.

“It is satisfying to see that, now, Pijijiapan has a very nice hospital that meets the needs of the people, with the necessary health personnel, equipped with X-rays, modern offices, enough beds, a laboratory, a sterilization center, a pharmacy with 100 percent of the medication keys, among other spaces and specialized requirements”, he said when calling on the inhabitants to be united and take care of this medical unit.

Within this framework, the president announced that he will continue to join efforts with the Pijijiapan City Council, with the aim of promoting the conversion project of the Women’s Clinic, which could evolve into a Humanized Birth Clinic, in order to improve care the health of women and children; likewise, the consolidation of road infrastructure, which will strengthen the social, economic and commercial activities of the region.

He stressed that, thanks to responsible work, public resources are enough to meet health needs, and so far this government has rehabilitated, built and equipped more than 750 clinics, hospitals and health centers in urban areas. and rural, and the goal is that the more than 1,102 of the state health system remain in optimal conditions.

Representing the families of Pijijiapan, María del Carmen Colmenares Martínez recognized the governor for bringing top-level equipment: “We already deserved something like this, we had lived in the backwardness and ignorance of previous governments; This is not a reconversion, it is a new hospital to care for the patient with the quality and human warmth that he needs, because those who use the hospital are the ones who are sitting here, we are the people”.

The director of the Basic Community Hospital, Cielo Vázquez Zambrano, added to this gratitude, who endorsed the commitment of the staff to serve the patients with love and professionalism; She added that in addition to the inhabitants of Pijijiapan, the Coastal area is an important corridor for tourists and the migrant population, and with this infrastructure, X-ray equipment, ambulance, among others, they will be able to offer first-rate and more efficient care.

In turn, the Secretary of Health, José Manuel Cruz Castellanos, explained that today a hospital with the first level of care and specialty service is delivered, where 85 percent of the demand for health problems in Pijijiapan is efficiently attended. ; He pointed out that it will be analyzed whether the Women’s Clinic in this municipality is feasible to convert it into a Clinic for Humanized Childbirth Care.

After recalling the bad practices that were common in the past, when hospitals were equipped just for the inauguration, the mayor of Pijijiapan, Carlos Alberto Albores Lima, said that today it is the opposite, since, thanks to the State Government, this hospital It has been well equipped and with medicines, in addition to the fact that the health personnel care with vocation for the Pijijiapanecos.
