According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Thailand, on June 24, the government of Nong Khai province and the Thai Viet Association of Nong Khai province solemnly held a ceremony to inaugurate the Vietnam Welcome Gate on the road of overseas Vietnamese to commemorate the province.

The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand and the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh, Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen Chu Duc Dung, Governor of Nong Khai Rachan Soonhua, Chairman of the All-Thai Vietnamese Association Nguyen Ngoc Thin, Chairman.
