The ceremonies began with the cutting of the ribbon as a sign of the inauguration of these houses which were handed over to 5 Hutu households, 5 Tutsi households and 5 Batwa households, houses built by the organization “Support for Community Initiatives” (APIC). Each house is made up of three bedrooms, a kitchen and ecological latrines installed outside.

The beneficiaries of these houses also received an installation kit. Each household received three mattresses, blankets and household equipment such as tables and chairs, kitchen utensils and hoes.

The Secretary General of this organization, Balde Nsavyimana, took this opportunity to paint a picture of the achievements of this organization in favor of the vulnerable. According to Balde Nsavyimana, in the education sector, 1,521 students were supported to enable them to continue their studies. In the water sector, sources of drinking water have been developed while in the housing sector, 82 modern houses were built for vulnerable households in Zege in addition to these fifteen houses handed over that day to the vulnerable people of Mwogo. He added that in the area of ​​livestock, 223 goats were distributed to vulnerable households to strengthen their resilience.

The Secretary General of this organization urged the beneficiaries of these houses to live together peacefully and help each other.

The representative of the ministry with solidarity in his responsibilities, for his part, welcomed this gesture of charity which supports the government’s policy which works on the establishment of villages of peace and development.

After Mwogo hill, the organization “Support for Community Initiatives” also inaugurated a sewing training center established in the capital of the Gitega rural zone, a center which was created by this organization for the benefit of young people from the Twa ethnicity.
