An operational incident at the Mairie de Montrouge station interrupted traffic on line 4 of the Paris metro around 6 p.m. on Wednesday June 14. The disruptions led to other incidents on the line in both directions of traffic.

On the Twitter account of line 4, the RATP communicates in real time on the state of train traffic. Around 7 p.m., “shuttles were stuck in the tunnel”, and around 8 p.m., two of them were “being evacuated by station agents”. The RATP has made it known that “firefighters went to Montparnasse to welcome people in difficulty”. Around 8:30 p.m., another RATP message posted on Twitter claimed that “all stranded shuttles (were) being evacuated. »

Journalist Laurent Bazin, present in one of the metro trains stuck in a tunnel, let it be known on Twitter that passengers were trying “to force the doors”. Another journalist, Camille Thomaso, publishes, a video of passengers getting off the tracks.

Other passengers on Twitter posted photos and messages trying to raise awareness of the situation. Some of them claim to have been stuck on the tracks for over an hour. Others report “armoured oars”, “without air conditioning”of “panicked people”.
