The N’zérékoré Quality Control Service on Thursday incinerated 38.33 tonnes of seized products.

It was at the Bounouma landfill that this operation took place in the presence of authorities at all levels.

In his communication, the section head, quality control, Moussa Sacko, welcomed this operation. He subsequently praised the involvement of agents and traders.

“Last year, it was on the same site that we incinerated 67 tonnes. And this year the stock is 38.33 tonnes. We put in place a system which was very necessary to help traders. It was therefore necessary to raise awareness, which is a very important factor in control. It was therefore necessary to explain to them what stock rotation is. So with everyone’s effort, we were able to get our hands on this stock that you see now. And the merchants agreed to collaborate with us. What was important in collecting this stock.

The products that are there are mainly composed of cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical products. What I can say to the population is that we are there for them. This is our fundamental mission. Economic operators must understand that we are above all partners,” said Moussa Sacko.

For his part, the president of the regional chamber of Commerce, Makan Camara, also welcomed the good collaboration between operators and the quality control department.

“I am very happy today to participate in this operation. What I liked was the goodwill of the traders. Many of them have come to inform the service that they have expired goods. That’s a gesture to be welcomed. For our part, we will always continue to educate traders to work in this direction. The quality control department does its job well in N’zérékoré by raising awareness among traders. This is the result that is there today,” mentioned Makan Camara.

Also present at this cremation, the prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of N’zérékoré, Abdoulaye Komah, invited the service and security agents to redouble their vigilance. He also recalled the punishments provided for by law.

“It is true that there were traders who deposited the products of their own free will. But some of them refuse. Regardless, there must be vigilance and, above all, collaboration between the security services and the National Quality Control Office to monitor the expiration of products. Intoxication is provided for by the provisions of the code of criminal procedure. And on top of that, the law has gone very far. Because in the event of intoxication, if it is proven, the person concerned risks being sentenced between 1 month and 5 years,” the magistrate said.
