Inclusive national dialogue: the menu of discussions – AGP 2024-04-08 23:20:11

Akanda, April 8, 2024 – Several themes defined on the basis of the 38,140 contributions collected following the call for contributions, are on the menu of the committee work which began this Monday, April 8 at the Sino-Gabonese Friendship Stadium Angondjé, north of Libreville.

Scientific work was previously and meticulously carried out by the Government, via the Ministry of Institutional Reform, in the composition of the Commissions. There are three of these, notably the political commission, the economic commission and the social commission.

These commissions are each subdivided into four subcommittees with an equitably allocated number of commissioners.

The subcommittees reporting to the Political Commission will work respectively on “Political regime and institutions”, “National sovereignty”, “Rights and Freedoms”, as well as on “Regime and organization of the State”.

Regarding “Regime and political institutions”, the commissioners’ discussions will focus on Governance, the Constitution, institutions, elections, politics and democracy, and the Government.

Regarding “National Sovereignty”, it will be a question of Defense and Security, Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy, Nationality, and Immigration.

As for “Rights and Freedoms”, the work will focus on Justice and Human Rights, Associations, NGOs and unions, and the Law.

As for the “Regime and organization of the State”, the debates will focus on Central Administration, Decentralization, Worship and Religion.

In the economic commission, ‘Economy and Finance’, ‘Equipment, Infrastructure and Public Works’, ‘Employment’, ‘Agriculture and Environment’ will be the subjects of discussions in the sub-committees.

The commissioners will debate in the first theme on the economy and finances, the budget and public accounts, banks, insurance and industry, hotels, restaurants, trade, tourism, crafts, oil and mining.

In the second theme, exchanges between commissioners will be based on transport, equipment, infrastructure and public works, new technologies and information and communication (NICT) and Communication. At the level of the third theme, the reflection of the commissioners who are members of this sub-committee will focus on work, the Civil Service, while for the last theme, the members of this commission will discuss agriculture, livestock, fishing , the sea, the environment, the forest and the climate.

Finally, in the social commission, “Training”, “Social well-being”, “Cultural heritage and Values”, and
“Youth, leisure and sports” are the main themes. The first theme concerns Education, Higher Education, Scientific Research and innovation, Professional and Technical Training. The second will discuss in particular Health and Social Affairs, Housing, Housing, Land, Urban Planning, Water, Electricity and Energy.

While in the last one, the commissioners will talk about culture, youth and sports.
