Last year there was an increase in crimes committed in the context of domestic violence on the territory of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Varna. This was told to the media by the chief secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Zhivko Kotsev, who was present at the report on the work of the directorate last year.
The Varna region is no exception in the country, and the increase in domestic violence crimes is nearly 150 points. A larger number of protection measures and restraining orders were also reported, added Kotsev.
The chief secretary congratulated the employees of the directorate for the work and the results achieved last year and added that there are no unsolved murders and attempted murders in the district, there is a decrease in robberies.
The Chief Secretary identified several highlights for the work of the police officers in Varna this year – training and professional training, due to deficits and gaps in the knowledge and skills to react in purely routine situations, on a national scale – countering the production and distribution of drugs – the scourge in modern society, as well as reducing traffic injuries.
