Muscat: Foreign investment in the country has increased rapidly in 2020, according to reports. In 2020, the Sultanate’s foreign investment is 22.244 billion riyals. Compared to the previous year, there has been an increase of six percent. In 2019, foreign investment was 20.98 billion riyals. These things are stated in the report of the National Situation Information Centre. By the end of 2020, investments in the oil and gas production sector amounted to 11.174 billion riyals. Compared to the previous year, an increase of 50.2 percent has been recorded.

The financial sector is in the second position with 6.6 billion Riyal investment. Compared to 2019, there has been an increase of 27 percent. The production sector also reached the third position with an investment of 2.013 billion riyals. In 2020, the UK received the most foreign investment. UK’s foreign investment is 7.112 billion riyals. USA came in second place with 2.045 billion dollars and UAE in third place with 998.3 million riyals.
