Doha: The Qatar Ministry of Labor announced that it received 8,191 new recruitment applications in the month of September. According to figures in the monthly bulletin released by the Ministry of Labour, out of the total number of applications received by the Ministry, 3910 applications were approved and 4281 applications were rejected. Along with this, it was stated in the bulletin that while 5015 applications were received for job change, 3990 applications were approved and 1025 applications were rejected.
In September, 2175 applications in the work permit category came before the ministry. Of these, 913 applications were for permit renewal and 907 applications were for new permits. At the same time, the Ministry also informed that it has received 353 applications for cancellation of issued permits and two applications for replacement of lost permits. In order to ensure compliance with the laws and decisions related to labor recruitment, 47 inspection visits were made to the recruitment offices in September.
The bulletin report also indicates that a warning has been issued to an office that has violated the law. Last month, 4560 inspections were conducted in various areas and 1216 violations were found. The Ministry released that 473 warning notices were issued against those who violated the law and 81 companies violated the Ministry Order No. 17 of 2021 for the protection of workers in open places during hot weather.
The bulletin stated that 1327 cases were referred to the dispute resolution committees under the Ministry and the total number of decisions taken by the committee in the cases was 376 and 610 cases were under consideration by the committee.
