Poverty and unemployment are on the rise in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. Due to this, the number of beggars in the city of Kabul is increasing and the residents have expressed their concern.

Dolo News reported that some residents said they would not beg if the Afghan government offered them jobs.

A beggar said that we are living under the same tent as we have a house but not enough money. The Afghan Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs also said that steps will be taken to identify genuine beggars, stop them from begging and provide them with jobs.

The hunger and health crisis in Afghanistan is on the rise, said John Sifton, Asia director at Human Rights Watch. He also said that international economic restrictions are pushing the country to disaster.
