Muscat: Increase in the number of Kovid freedmen in Oman. Another 103 people have been diagnosed with the Kovid virus in Oman today. 157 were cured. So far, 3,81,615 people have been cured in the country. A total of 3,87,730 people in Oman have been affected by the Kovid.

The cure rate is 98.4%. No new deaths have been reported from Kovid. A total of 4,250 people have died due to Kovid. In the last 24 hours, 14 Kovid patients have been admitted to hospitals. A total of 93 Kovid patients are currently being treated in hospitals across the country. Of these, 20 are in critical condition. They are being treated in the intensive care unit.

Relief for expatriates; Expired visas can be renewed without penalty

Muscat: Opportunity to renew expired visa in Oman without penalty. The Oman Ministry of Labor has announced that it will waive the visa-related fines until September 1. This benefit is available to those who renew till August 31.

The ministry added that the revised visa rates will come into effect from June 1. Work visa fees were reduced on the instructions of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. Fees for issuing and renewing a visa have been reduced. Oman’s Ministry of Human Resources has issued new visa fees following the Sultan’s directive. These rates will come into effect from early June this year. The fee was reduced to 301 riyals from the previous maximum of 2001 riyals. Institutions that comply with the indigenization requirements will receive a discount of up to 85% on this fee.

The visa fee for posts that previously charged between 601 riyals and 1001 riyals will now be 251 riyals. Most of them are working in specialized and technical fields. Institutions that have implemented indigenization in this category will be charged a fee of 176 riyals.
