The traffic data recorded in the Port of Valencia during the first half of 2023 reflect an increase in the weight of the railway in the logistics chain of these facilities. Between January and June, a total of 116,439 TEUs, 9 percent more, entered and left the Valencian docks along its tracks: 1,648,624 tons were mobilized, 12.41 percent more.

These data respond to the results of the measures promoted by Valenciaport to promote this mode of transport and which are part of the Port Authority’s Decarbonization Plan. In this sense, its annual accumulated represents 7.62 percent of the total compared to 6.67 percent in 2022.

In this line of impulse to the railway, in May, during a few days of debate, the projects that are developed in the Valencia and Sagunto enclosures were analyzed. In the first case, the connection to the southern zone was highlighted, while in the second, work is being done on the connection works with the Mediterranean Corridor (see news).
