The government service effort team confirmed, today, Sunday, that the increase in mechanisms and the expansion of roads and intersections contributed to facilitating the movement of visitors, while pointing out that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed the necessity of completing infrastructure work to provide a smooth flow of millions of visits.
The head of the government service effort team in Baghdad and the representative of Hammurabi Company in the Ministry of Reconstruction, Abdul Razzaq Al-Maliki, told the (INA): “In implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Reconstruction and Housing, a large campaign was implemented to prepare the necessary conditions to ensure the smooth flow of the Arbaeen pilgrimage from its beginning until the reverse delegation of visitors.”
He explained that “many of the ministry’s vehicles participated in transporting visitors, and all its departments mobilized their energy as well as the cadres working on these vehicles,” stressing that “the number of vehicles has quadrupled compared to last year.”
He pointed out that “expanding some intersections and preparing roads contributed to facilitating the movement of visitors, in addition to the opening of Al-Fadhiliyah Bridge, which connects the two sides of Baghdad to Babil Governorate, which provided great fluidity and contributed to relieving traffic congestion, as it is considered a second roundabout passage without passing through the main roads that lead to Karbala Governorate.”
He pointed out that “there is high-level coordination between the movement of vehicles in the ministry, the Ministry of Interior, and the affiliated security agencies, in addition to the Popular Mobilization Forces and all responsible sectors in order to secure the movement of visitors and their return to their governorates.”
He added, “The Prime Minister directed, within a plan adopted by the government, the necessity of completing the infrastructure works for the facilities and roads used by visitors during the million-strong visits in order to provide more fluidity and services in the coming years.”
