Increasing private investment in the real estate sector

by time news

During April-September of this financial year, the private equity investment in the housing leasing sector has increased by 40 percent.

According to a report issued by Anarock, a consulting and research firm in the sector, the following is stated:

In the first half of the current financial year (April-September), private equity investment in India’s housing sector stood at $280 crore.

It was $200 crore in the same period last year. In comparison to this, private equity investment in the housing leasing sector has increased by 40 percent during the April-September period of this year.

Due to the improvement in the Indian economy and the real estate sector, investors’ confidence in the sector is gradually increasing.

Reflecting this, the amount of private equity investment in the sector has increased in the first half of the current financial year.

In the first half of this financial year, foreign investors accounted for 78 percent of the investments made in the real estate sector. This reflects their strong confidence in the Indian real estate industry.

In the April-September period of 2022-23, domestic investments in housing and rental sector increased by 45 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal. At the same time, foreign investments increased by 36 percent.

Private investments in the office property segment of house-to-house rental stood at $186.2 crore during the April-September period of this financial year. This is almost equal to the investment made in the previous financial year.

This sector has been hit hard in the last years of 2020 and 2021 due to the Corona crisis and the general shutdown. This situation happened because most of them worked from their homes.

Now that the crisis is over, demand for housing is healthy.

As a result, in the first half (April-September) of the current financial year, the residential housing segment took the second place in the house-to-house rental segment that showed the most interest among investors.

During this period, only 37.2 crore dollars were invested in the housing sector.

If the trend of increasing private equity investments in the housing rental sector continues, it will create a huge opportunity for the growth of the sector, according to the report of Anarock.
