IND vs AUS: India got the Border-Gavaskar Trophy off to a flying start by beating Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the series opener in Nagpur on Saturday. Australia, who won the toss and elected to bat first, were bowled out for 177 runs in the first innings. India’s 400 in the first innings gave a good start. Australia were bowled out for 91 runs in the second innings due to India’s excellent bowling. With the 2nd Test set to take place in Delhi, Team India has made a significant change in the squad by releasing Jaidev Unadkat to play for Saurashtra in the Ranji Final.

With the second Test scheduled for Friday, Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer is still at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to recuperate from a back injury. He got injured during the New Zealand ODI series. Iyer shared some videos of his training at NCA under the supervision of coach S Rajinikanth. Hence, he might not feature in the entire series.

With the Ranji Trophy almost over, Iyer may be asked to represent Rest of India in the Irani Trophy against Madhya Pradesh from March 1-5 to prove his fitness. Ravindra Jadeja, who was named man of the match in the first Test, played in the Ranji Trophy against Tamil Nadu before joining the Indian camp for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
