In the first match of the series between India and New Zealand, India won by 5 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The Indian team is on the verge of winning the 2nd T20 match to be played in Ranchi today. Meanwhile, the New Zealand team is in the running to win today’s match and retain the chance to win the series.
Under Rahul Dravid’s coaching, Rohit Sharma’s full-time captaincy led India to their first victory in the first T20 match in Jaipur. The Indian team chased down the target of 165 in that match, with Rohit Sharma (48) batting brilliantly and Suryakumar Yadav’s action-packed fifty making it easy for them to win.
But Suryakumar Yadav, who scored an impressive fifty, was dismissed for 62, followed by Shreyas Iyer for five off eight balls, adding to the pressure on the Indian team. In the last over, Rishabh Pund hit a four to end the match.
Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a brilliant fifty, was dismissed in the 17th over as the team needed just 21 runs to win. The Indian team won the toss and elected to field.
In this situation, Gautam Gambhir is dissatisfied with the fact that Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a good fifty, did not stand on the field till the end and finish the match responsibly.
Speaking on the occasion, Gautam Gambhir said, “I am very dissatisfied that Suryakumar Yadav did not end the match. I really liked his batting. But it is not worth it if the match is not over. It doesn’t matter how we start; What matters is how we finish. Hitting 60, 70, 80 runs does not matter. It is important for the team to finish the match by scoring the last run.
Rishabh Pund finished the match. Rishab’s last run was more important than Suryakumar’s 62; Tough run. Gambhir said that even if he scores 70-80, it is maturity to beat the team to the last run.
