Team India swept the three-match T20 Series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma and his team have reached the record of sweeping more series in T20I. The record is shared with India by their arch-rivals Pakistan. Both teams have swept the series six times. Afghanistan, who have swept five series, and England, who have swept four series, are next on the elite list.

This is only the second time in the T20 format that India have swept a series of three or more matches. Earlier in 2020, India swept the five-match T20 series against New Zealand at home. Apart from the Kiwis, India have swept the T20 series more than once against the West Indies. India swept 3-0 in India in 2018 and the same series in their home series in 2019. India have also swept the series against Australia (3-0) in 2016 and Sri Lanka (3-0) in 2017.

India won the first two matches of the T20 series against New Zealand. With this, the third T20 was irrelevant but India swept the three-match series with a huge victory in the last match as well.

Team India won the last match of the India vs New Zealand T20 series. With the win, India swept the three-match series. India won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first, New Zealand were bowled out for 111 in 17.2 overs. For India, Akshar Patel took three wickets for just nine runs in three overs.

It was also New Zealand’s biggest defeat against India in terms of runs in T20I. In 2019, the Kiwis lost to England by 76 runs in Napier and in 2017, they lost to South Africa by 78 runs in Auckland. New Zealand’s biggest loss in the T20I came in 2010 when they lost to Pakistan by 103 runs in Christchurch.
