Harare: India opener Abhishek Sharma revealed that his mentor Yuvraj Singh was very happy when he got out on zero in his T20 international debut against Zimbabwe as the former all-rounder believed that it was a good start. Abhishek could not open his account while making his international debut for India. Zimbabwe won this match by 13 runs. However, Abhishek made a brilliant comeback and scored 100 runs in 47 balls in the second match, due to which India was successful in winning this match by 100 runs.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has posted a video in which Abhishek said, ‘I talked to him (Yuvraj) and I don’t know why he was so happy when I got out on zero. He said it was a good start, but now he will be happy like my family and he will be proud of me.’ Abhishek thanked Yuvraj, the hero of India’s 2011 World Cup victory, for not only improving his skills on the cricket field but also supporting him off the field.

He said, ‘He has played a very important role in whatever I am today. He worked hard to bring me here. He not only improved my skills on the cricket field but also helped me in life outside the field.’ After the match played on Sunday, Abhishek talked to Yuvraj and he was very happy with the performance of this young batsman.
Yuvraj said, ‘Well done, I am proud of you. You deserved this. This is just the beginning. You will play many such innings in the future.’ Let us tell you that during the lockdown, Yuvraj Singh worked on two players.
