Young all-rounder Abhishek Sharma, who has rocked the IPL stage, is in the news these days. Although he was criticized after he was out for zero in his debut match against Zimbabwe, he proved his ability by scoring a stormy century in the very next match. Seeing Abhishek’s century, former Indian veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also praised him. After failing to score any runs in his first international match on Saturday, Abhishek scored a century in 46 balls in the second T20 match against Zimbabwe. Apart from Abhishek, Rituraj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 77. While Rinku Singh played an unbeaten innings of 48 runs off 22 balls, helping India score a huge score of 234/2 in 20 overs. After bundling out Zimbabwe for 134 runs, India won the match by 100 runs. Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar took three wickets each, while Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets. Abhishek, who was adjudged the Player of the Match, made a video call to his family and Yuvraj. Yuvraj was happy with his performance and congratulated him for the achievement. Yuvi also said that this is just the beginning. There is a lot more to come. On the video call with Abhishek, Yuvraj said, ‘Awesome, very proud. You deserved this. There is a lot more to come, this is just the beginning.’ Abhishek revealed that Yuvraj was happy after getting out for zero in the first T20 match and said that it is a good start. However, Abhishek feels that the century in the T20 match has definitely made him proud. Abhishek said, ‘I called Yuvi paaji after the first match and I don’t know why, but he was very happy, he said it is a good start. ‘I think he should also be proud of my century innings, just like my family. So I am really happy, the hard work they have put in me and it is all because of them. For 2-3 years, he has been working really hard for me and not just in cricket but off the field as well. So, it is a big moment.” The five-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe is tied at 1-1 and the third match will be played on Wednesday.
