BCCI had announced the Indian team for the Zimbabwe series in the middle of the T20 World Cup. Shubman Gill was made the captain of this team of young players. But the rest of the players who were in India left for Zimbabwe with head coach VVS Laxman (only for this tour). Indian players who performed well in IPL have got a chance to tour Zimbabwe. Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Tushar Deshpande have received a call from the Indian team for the first time. However, Nitish Reddy’s name was also in this list. But he got injured and was replaced by Shivam Dubey in the squad.
