Index rises in DSE, falls in CSE

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended the week’s last business day Thursday (September 12) with rising indices, but Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) index fell. On this day, DSE and CSE saw an increase in the amount of money traded compared to the previous working day. However, the share price of most of the companies and mutual fund units traded on DSE and CSE fell.

Index rises in DSE, falls in CSE

According to DSE and CSE sources, at the end of the day, the main index of DSE DSEX increased by 12.55 points from the previous day and stands at 5 thousand 726 points. The DSE Shariah index increased by 4.76 points to 1,245 points and the DS30 index decreased by 7.5 points to 2,100 points.

A total of 397 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE. Among them, share and unit prices increased in 158 companies, decreased in 181 and remained unchanged in 58.

A total of Tk 733 crore 39 lakh shares and units were traded in DSE today. Shares and units worth Tk 625 crore and 72 lakh were traded on the previous working day.

On the other hand, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX index is down 14.56 points at 9,729 points. Overall index CASPI decreased by 21.94 points to 16 thousand 140 points, Sharia index decreased by 0.77 points to 1 thousand 30 points and CSE30 index decreased by 48.30 points to 13 thousand 12 points.

Shares and units of 211 companies were traded on CSE. Among them, share and unit prices of 72 companies increased, 109 companies decreased and 30 companies remained unchanged.

At the end of the day, shares and units worth Tk 8 crore 99 lakh were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 5 crore 91 lakh were traded on the previous working day.
