INDH: An Addiction Center is opening in Safi

Inaugurated in the presence of the governor of the province of Safi, Lahoucine Chaynane, the president of the municipal council, the president of the provincial council, and local elected officials, this Center aims to combat addictive behavior, particularly by targeting drug users without resources.

The result of a partnership between the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection, the Urban Municipality of Safi (mobilization of land) and the Nour Essalam association for the fight against addictive behavior, this project is part of the INDH’s “Support for people in precarious situations” program.

This socio-medical structure, which meets the most demanding standards in this area, will be a privileged tool for care, awareness, diagnosis, prevention, and psycho-social support for people suffering from addictive behavior.

This Center will be managed jointly by the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection, which will mobilize medical and paramedical staff, and the Nour Essalam association for the fight against addictive behavior, which will be responsible for managing the social center of the Center, through the implementation of psychosocial support programs to facilitate the integration of drug users.

In this context, it should be noted that the Provincial Committee for Human Development (CPDH) of Safi has made available to the association a mobile unit to conduct awareness campaigns as part of the prevention and fight against addictive behavior.

Still in the wake of the permanent monitoring of the implementation of INDH projects in the province, Mr. Chaynane and the delegation accompanying him, proceeded to the handover of keys to 09 equipped ambulances, including 08 for the benefit of rural communes of “Laamamra”, “Gourani”, “Tlat Bouguedra”, “Touabet”, “Moul Bergui”, “Mrasla”, “Sidi Aissa” and “Lamsabih”, in addition to an ambulance for the benefit of Dar Al Oumouma (Maternity Home) of Tlat Bouguedra, acquired within the framework of the INDH, for a total cost of 3.6 million DH (MDH), including 3.15 MDH as a contribution from the Initiative.

Mr. Chaynane also handed over a mobile colposcopy and ultrasound unit as well as a vaccine transport unit, acquired within the framework of the INDH for the benefit of the Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Safi, for a total amount of 2.8 MDH, as well as a utility vehicle for transporting medicines and medical equipment acquired within the framework of the INDH, for the benefit of patients suffering from renal failure in the province, for a total cost of 0.21 MDH, of which 0.19 MDH was provided by the INDH.

In a statement to M24, the continuous news television channel of MAP, the Head of the Social Action Division of the province of Safi, Abderrahim Hababa, emphasized the positive impact of these projects, which are part of phase III of the INDH, on the targeted social categories, noting the proactive and pragmatic approach of this 3rd phase of the Initiative, in accordance with the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

And to continue that the projects and programs validated by the CPDH concern in particular the support of people in precarious situations and the health of children and mothers, welcoming the full support of civil society in the efforts aimed at the practical realization of these projects included in the framework of the INDH.
