The seven municipalities benefiting from school transport buses are Ouled Rahmoune (two), El Haouzia, Sidi Abed, Sidi M’hamed Akhdim, Sidi Hssein Ben Abderrahman and Mogress. As for the ambulances, they were offered to the municipalities of Moulay Abdellah and Boulaouane.
The total cost of this batch of vehicles handed over during a ceremony chaired by the acting governor of the province of El Jadida, Mohamed Samir El Khamlichi, is 3.46 million dirhams, a full contribution from the INDH for fight against school dropouts in rural areas and promote access to care in hospitals.
In a statement to MAP, Hakima Erraï, head of the Social Action Division in the province of El Jadida, indicated that this initiative is part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the accession of HM King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His glorious ancestors.
She also stressed that the delivery of these vehicles aims to promote schooling in rural areas, to fight against school dropouts, and to bring health services closer to citizens.
For his part, the president of the Municipal Council of Sidi Abed, Mohamed Safari, welcomed this initiative which allowed several rural municipalities in the province of El Jadida to benefit from school transport buses. He said these buses will help ease the burden on parents and students, and therefore help fight against school dropouts.
In this regard, he praised the significant contribution of the INDH to fill the deficit in terms of mobility in the educational field in rural areas, announcing the project to create a new educational establishment in Sidi Abed at the initiative of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, to further strengthen public educational offerings.
