These projects, financed by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) to the tune of 31,613 million dirhams, aim to make up for the deficit in infrastructure and basic social services in under-equipped areas (2 projects), support people in precarious situations (33 projects), improving the income and economic inclusion of young people (60 projects), as well as boosting the human capital of rising generations (24 projects).
Speaking on this occasion, the wali of the Marrakech-Safi Region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Karim Kassi-Lahlou, indicated that the new projects are submitted, within the framework of the governance of the INDH, to the technical examination by the prefectural technical committee for human development and the prefectural committee for economic development, to ensure their feasibility and adaptation to the programs of this social project, and to guarantee the convergence of interventions and efforts of stakeholders.
On the other hand, Mr. Kassi-Lahlou specified that 469 projects, with an estimated total cost of 250.72 MDH, were programmed during the 2019-2021 period, with a contribution from the INDH of the order of 225.5 MDH, adding that 320 projects have been completed and 149 are in progress, knowing that the total number of projects which will be carried out by the end of 2022 should reach 462, or 98% of the programmed projects.
He subsequently described this assessment as “encouraging” given the volume, nature and impact of the planned projects, which essentially aim to improve human development indicators in the main social sectors (health, education, employment, etc.).
For his part, the head of the Social Action Division (DAS) at the Marrakech prefecture, Anouar Dbira Tlemsani, presented a detailed presentation on the progress of the INDH programs for the period 2019- 2021.
And the person in charge clarified that during this period, the creation of 129 preschool education units in rural areas was planned, of which 89 are operational, 77 in the equipment phase and 33 in progress. construction, noting that the number of units programmed in 2022 amounts to 32, while the number of beneficiary students will reach 820 children.
This meeting was punctuated by a series of presentations on the implementation of educational support projects in rural areas, and training and capacity building of associations responsible for the management of social protection establishments, financed by the ‘INDH, as well as on the conclusions of the study relating to the situation of childhood in the ocher city, in addition to the projection of two videos on the celebration of the 17th anniversary of the INDH and the activities of the Cultural Center ” the stars of Jamaâ El Fna”, supervised by the Ali Zaoua Foundation.
At the end of this meeting, a series of partnership agreements were signed for the implementation of projects relating in particular to training and capacity building of associations responsible for managing social protection establishments, development of sports infrastructure and equipment for the academic support center.
Finally, the wali and the members of the CPDH proceeded to hand over materials and equipment acquired within the framework of the INDH.
This involves medical and paramedical equipment for the benefit of health centers in the communes of Lamnabha and Ouled Dlim, educational equipment for associations active in the field of disability, vision correction glasses for students from needy families (300 beneficiaries), equipment for the benefit of the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali Center for the development of children and young people, bicycles dedicated to school transport (100) and equipment for nine boarding schools in educational establishments.
