With a “Traditional sewing and embroidery workshop” and a marketing space, this project, with a total investment of 331,648 dirhams, is part of INDH Program 3 “Improving income and economic inclusion of young people”, in particular the axis relating to supporting production chains with high employment potential.
For the launch of this project in excellent conditions and to provide it with adequate equipment, the INDH has made available to the said Cooperative, financial support of the order of 248,736 DH, while the financial contribution of the project leader amounts to 82,912 dirhams, according to data from the Social Action Division (DAS) under the prefecture of the province of Safi.
The main objective of this project is to improve the working conditions and income of the women members of this Cooperative, to promote their integration into the job market, while promoting craft products.
In a statement to MAP on this occasion, the Head of the Social Action Division at the prefecture of the province of Safi, Abderrahim Hababa, stressed that the visit to this project and other Cooperatives benefiting from INDH aid is part of the celebration of World Cooperatives Day, noting that this annual event is an opportunity to highlight the fundamental role of these entities in meeting the economic and social needs of the targeted categories.
Mr. Hababa was keen to point out that the total number of cooperatives and companies that have benefited from the support of the INDH at the provincial level within the framework of its third phase of the Initiative amounts to 73.
He then said that the objective of this support is to facilitate the integration of women into the labor market, generate employment opportunities and promote the employment of women active in this field, noting that the beneficiary cooperatives operate in various sectors, such as agriculture, maritime fishing, sustainable tourism and crafts.
Furthermore, Mr. Hababa did not fail to reiterate the firm commitment of the INDH to support this category of the population, highlighting the openness of the Initiative to all opportunities aimed at strengthening the economic fabric in this part of the national territory.
For her part, Khadija Badis, president of the “Bnat Lgoraan” Cooperative, indicated that her workshop owes its development to the financial aid and valuable support of the INDH, noting that more than 20 beneficiary women are currently mobilized to manage the various embroidery orders received by the Cooperative.
She also expressed her sincere gratitude to the INDH, the provincial authorities and all parties concerned for the considerable efforts made to improve the socio-economic conditions of women, in accordance with the will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the special attention that the Sovereign continues to give to this category of the population to promote its economic and social integration.
