INDH/Province of Kenitra: 74 projects carried out in favor of maternal and child health for more than 25 MDH

Speaking at a communication meeting organized as part of the celebration of the 19th anniversary of the INDH, placed this year under the theme “The first 1000 days of life, foundation of the future of our children”, Mr. M’Hamdi praised the efforts deployed for the implementation of this Royal Initiative, particularly in the field of the promotion of maternal and child health and nutrition.

He also said that 925 projects were approved by the Provincial Committee for Human Development (CPDH) with an envelope of 376.8 MDH, distributed over the four programs of phase III of the Initiative, namely catching up on deficits in infrastructure and basic social services (34 projects/17 MDH), supporting people in precarious situations (202 projects/89.2 MDH), improving the income and economic inclusion of young people (481 projects/82.54 MDH) and boosting the human capital of rising generations (208 projects/188 MDH).

For her part, the head of the Social Action Division of Kenitra, Ibtissam Al Ayadi, affirmed, in a statement to MAP, that the assessment of the achievements of the 3rd phase of the INDH, presented during this meeting, reflects the importance and relevance of the actions carried out, particularly in favor of the promotion of maternal and child health.

In this regard, she stressed the importance of the theme chosen for the celebration of the 19th anniversary of the INDH, given that the first 1000 days of life constitute a decisive stage in the existence of the individual, contributing greatly to the promotion of human capital.

For his part, the provincial delegate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Abdelmoumen Redouane, said in a similar statement that a national campaign is planned from May 22 to June 22 to raise awareness among the general public about the importance of this period of life which is, according to scientific data, crucial to ensure the future well-being of the child, which requires great vigilance during pregnancy or during the postnatal period.

At the end of this meeting, the keys to four ambulances were handed over to health centers in the municipalities of Arbaoua and Oum Mansour, as well as a mobile medical unit for the municipality of Oued El Makhazine.
