Dhaka: Bangladesh’s interim government’s foreign affairs advisor Mohammad Tauhid Hussain has shown his viciousness towards India. He accused New Delhi of not giving importance to the demands of common Bangladeshis and not helping in sending back more than 10 lakh Rohingya refugees currently living in Bangladesh. In an interview with ABP News, he mentioned the death in BSF firing and said that a person is killed on the border and the pain is felt all over Bangladesh. He said that India needs to stop killings on the border. During this, his love for Pakistan also came to the fore.

Pakistan’s love for SAARC is evident

Talking about SAARC, the Bangladesh foreign advisor said, “We want the SAARC process to be revived. India-Pakistan animosity can be kept aside.” It is important to know here that during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure, Bangladesh and India were together in SAARC, due to which Pakistan was not able to make any headway here. Regarding the relations between New Delhi and Dhaka, Hussain said that “India knows what the people of Bangladesh want, but perhaps they gave more importance to relations with a person (Sheikh Hasina) and a party (Awami League) rather than the people.”

Teenager dies of gunshot

According to a report in Bangladesh’s leading newspaper Dhaka Tribune, a Bangladeshi teenager was killed in firing by Indian security forces at the Kulaura border in Moulvibazar. The Tribune identified the deceased as Swarna Das (14). The incident took place on Sunday night. Locals came to know about it when a team of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) reached Swarna’s house on Monday evening. It was told that the teenager was trying to cross the border illegally with her mother, when this incident took place.

Advocating strong ties with India

On Monday, Tauhid Hossain said the interim government wanted to see strong ties with the people of India, which he said was lacking during the previous Sheikh Hasina government, reports PTI. “It is possible to reduce public discontent towards India. I believe we need to take the right bilateral steps to solve this problem,” Hossain told reporters here. “We want to see strong people-to-people ties. People should feel that Bangladesh and India have really good relations, but unfortunately this aspect has been lacking,” Hossain said.
