India: Elbit’s sky rider will be used to map mines and villages in the country

Garuda Aerospace, one of the leading drone companies in India and one of the beneficiaries of the PLI program, is collaborating with Elbit Systems. The goal: to provide Skylark 3 UAVs to commercial and government agencies.

These drones will be equipped with advanced sensors and will be used for large-scale mining projects for steel plants and coal mines such as BCCL and Coal India, as well as NTPC facilities across the country. According to the company, Drone Shakti projects will also be areas of technology development and joint execution.

In addition, the drones are also expected to be used for large-scale surveying and mapping projects of villages within the Swamitva Scheme. Garuda Aerospace has already participated in Swamitva projects in the past, having recently completed the mapping of over 7,000 villages in just one year for the government.

The statement said that the potential for cooperation could reach up to 18 million dollars.
