L. Murugan, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, was the special guest at the Thakshin-South Indian Media and Entertainment Summit organized at Nandambakkam, Chennai on behalf of the Southern Regional Division of the Confederation of Indian Industry.

Film composer AR Raghuvan was given the ‘Icon’ award at the event. Satyajothi Films founder Thiagarajan, Pepsi chairman RK Selvamani and actor’s union president Nasser were also present on the occasion.

Union Minister L. Murugan spoke on the occasion: –

Movies embody the soul of the country. India is one of the fastest growing film industries in the world. India is producing a large number of films every year. Films made in this way reach all over the world. Not only our country’s films, but also Hollywood films like ‘Jungle Book’ have come to India for post-production work.

Agreement with 15 countries

As part of the country’s 75th Independence Day celebrations, the federal government has presented awards to 75 new talents who have excelled in the film industry. The Central Government is taking various steps to facilitate the Indian film industry. One such initiative is the single-window permit system in the Office for Film Facilities. Memorandums of Understanding have been signed with 15 countries to co-produce the film with Indian producers.

Thus he spoke.

Speaking on the occasion, AR Rahman said, “I went to Malaysia 7 years ago. Someone there said I like movies in North India. It seemed to me that he had seen pictures of South India. Malayalam film and other film like ours. Wherever we are in India we are within India. This does not mean that North India is South India. ”

Not given to the film industry

Speaking on the occasion, actor Nasser said, “Cinema should be about getting to know each other and superiorizing one another rather than being linguistic. D.D.S. They have kept the tax burden from 1.5 per cent to 10 per cent again. Tax cuts should be helpful for small films. Our representatives are talking to the Finance Minister about this. You (L. Murugan) should also report this. ”

Film director RK Selvamani said, “South Indian cinema produces 600 films out of 1000 producing Indian cinema. When we buy gold we pay for it with money. But don’t buy cinema like that. Provided financial assistance to other departments in Corona. But did not give to the cinema industry. 90 percent of the people here are day laborers. If the government gives us the legal protection we deserve, we will rebuild ourselves. ”
