Batting first in the first innings in the first Test against India, Australia were bowled out for 177 runs. Ravindra Jadeja, who saw the international arena after 7 months, showed a great performance and took 5 wickets.

The Australian cricket team visiting India is playing 4 Tests and 3 ODIs. The first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series has started in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Suryakumar Yadav, who has been a sensation in the last two years in T20 and ODIs, made his international Test debut through this match. In place of Rishabh Pandu, who was injured in a road accident, wicketkeeper KS Bharath made his debut.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja returned to the team after 6 months after recovering from an ankle injury. Indian team has fielded with 3 spin bowlers. Subman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav were not given a place in the squad.
