Team India won the first test match by an innings and 132 runs. Although the team performed well as a whole, some players including Suryakumar Yadav disappointed the Indian team. But now there are indications that Sky, who failed in the first test, may be left out of India’s playing eleven in the second test. Reports are that Shreyas Iyer, who missed the first match due to injury, may return to the XI in the second match and with this, Sky will be out. Indian coach Rahul Dravid also released hints about this the other day.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match last day, Dravid pointed out that if Shreyas Iyer is fit to play the second Test, he will go directly to the playing XI.
“It’s good news when someone comes back from injury. We never like to lose people due to injury. If he (Shreyas) comes back, it will make me happy. We will take a final decision on that after two days of training. If he is ready to bear the brunt of the five-day Test match then no doubt early. He will go straight into the playing eleven based on his performances.” Dravid said.
At the same time, if Shreyas Iyer returns, the strength of the Indian team will increase further in the second Test. The right-hander is currently the trusted number five batsman of the Indian Test team. Shreyas Iyer scored 422 runs at an average of 60 overs in 5 Test matches played in 2022. Shreyas Iyer was also the Indian team’s top scorer across all formats in the 2022 calendar year.
