IND Vs SA 2nd T20I: India beat South Africa by 16 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the 3-match series in the second T20I in Guwahati on Sunday. This is India’s first T20 series win against South Africa at home. In the previous three series in India, South Africa won once and the remaining two series ended in draws. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who hit fours and sixes in the first innings, walked off the field midway through the South African innings.
In the 12th over of South Africa’s innings, Rohit Sharma had to return to the pavilion. India captain Rohit Sharma’s nose bled during the match in Guwahati due to high humidity. South African captain Demba Bouma won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 2nd T20I, though Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave the team a solid start. After adding 96 runs for the first wicket, Rohit Sharma was bowled out by Keshav Maharaj for 43 runs. KL Rahul left after scoring 57 runs. Then Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav added runs. Suryakumar was run out for 61 runs off 22 balls. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten half-century with 49 runs. The Indian team scored 237 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing such a big score, South Africa lost the wickets of Demba Bauma and Riley Roseau first, with Arshdeep Singh dismissing both batsmen. Axar Patel was dismissed after Aiden Markram played some big shots and scored 33 off 19 balls. David Miller scored an unbeaten 106(47) and Quinton de Kock scored an unbeaten 69 off 48 balls. South Africa scored 221 for 3 in 20 overs. Indian team won the series by 16 runs.
