New Delhi: Test specialists Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been criticized by Indian cricket fans for their poor performance in the first innings of the Johannesburg Test. Fans are questioning the basis on which the Indian team will include Rahane and Test specialist Pujara in the selectors’ squad. Meanwhile, former India legend Sunil Gavaskar has warned that both the batsmen have only one innings left to save their careers.
On the first day of the second Test, South African pacer Duane Oliver was bowled out for two in a row. Pujara and Rahane went into the dressing room of the Indian team with three runs and no runs scored.

Sunil Gavaskar has warned of the future of Pujara and Rahane in cricket after the dismissal of both the players. Gavaskar commented during the match that both the players had only one innings left to defend their careers.
Gavaskar added that questions are now being raised as to why the two players, who have consistently shown mistakes, have been included in the team.

India ended the innings with 202 runs. In the absence of injured Indian Test captain Virat Kohli, KL Rahul led the Indian team. The performance of Rahul and R Ashwin gave India a better score. India are 1-0 up in the two – match series.
