Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investor Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2024). In this, he said that India has to be made a developed country by the year 2047. This expo is a part of this action plan. He also talked about the first 100 days of his third term. He said that our priority, speed and scale are also reflected in our first 100 days. The Prime Minister said that we have addressed every sector and factor that is necessary for India’s rapid development. He said that his government also took many decisions related to green energy in the first 100 days. PM Modi said that India is also working to generate 31 thousand megawatts of hydropower. More than Rs 12 thousand crores have been approved for this. He said that India is preparing a base for the coming one thousand years. He said that the demand for renewable energy is increasing in the country. The government is making a policy for this and is fully cooperating.

Speaking at the expo, New and Renewable Energy Minister Prahlad Joshi said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has taken a lead in the global renewable energy sector. He said that India is not only the 5th largest but also one of the fastest growing economies in the world. This growth is fuelling unprecedented demand for energy and we are committed to meet this demand with significant progress in the field of renewable energy.

The conference will run for three days

Let us tell you that the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investor Meet and Expo has started in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from today i.e. Monday. It will be organized till 18 September. Earlier this event was held in 2015, 2018 and 2020. This time it is the first time that a high profile event is being held outside the capital Delhi. This program is being organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will preside over the closing session on the last day. More than 10 thousand personalities from the government, industry and financial sectors are expected to attend this three-day conference.

This is the purpose of the expo

The expo will showcase the Indian government’s efforts to accelerate the clean energy sector and achieve climate goals. India needs an investment of Rs 30 lakh crore to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

  • There will be many companies related to renewable energy in this expo. In this, sellers and buyers will be able to join hands and increase their market participation to promote renewable energy.

  • The conference will include a comprehensive agenda spanning 44 sessions. G2B and B2B interactions will also be possible here.

The two and a half days of this expo will focus on future energy choices and provide participants with the latest trends, technologies, policies, etc. for the development of renewable energy. The expo includes a Chief Ministers’ Plenary Session, a CEO Roundtable and discussions focused on renewable energy innovations and opportunities specific to different countries and states. Key sessions will address the role of women in accelerating energy transition and provide a platform for start-ups.
