Viruthiman Saha, the wicket-keeper of the Indian cricket team, has been the only wicket-keeper in Test cricket for the Indian team for the past few years. He was not selected in the recent Test series against Sri Lanka.
Saha alleged that sports journalist Boriya Majumhar, who contacted him through WhatsApp in this case, threatened him with a mock message via SMS.
The BCCI conducted a thorough investigation into the matter with Viruthiman Saha. Commenting on the inquiry, Saha said, “I have told the committee everything I know. I have given the details of the reporter. But the BCCI has told me not to talk about it until the inquiry is over.”
Later, journalist Boria Majumdar volunteered to comment on the conversation with Saha. The BCCI has suspended Boria Majumdar for two years. He also said he could not attend the press conference, including interviews with players.
